Area-51m R1, AWCC CPU overclocking missing

Alienware Area-51m

Alienware Area-51m

Hello!

My warranty expired October 6, 2022. Since today, my AWCC doesn't want to show CPU overclocking section at all. The GPU overclocking tab misses too. I really need them in order to undervolt my CPU so it won't burn to 100 Celsius degrees. Plus using the thermals. Everything went fine with the AWCC until today. I didn't install any update, I always click "skip" when the AWCC wants to update itself so it wont ruin itself, but seems that this time it ruined regardless of my efforts.

I must also say that my BIOS is at version 1.21.0 and it has for no reason the overclocking feature in Performance Mode (in BIOS) greyed out. It's like it's disabled and cant do anything about it. I bet this has to do with my overclocking not working anymore.

I tried many solutions including complete reinstallation of my system (factory reset). I tried installing AWCC + OC Controls alone by using guide on Dell's page. I also do not have any virtualization settings or Core Isolation Memory Integrity enabled. It really makes no sense, I feel that I'm going to throw my 4k euros machine out the window. Why wont you leave the AWCC as it was back in 2019? Why is Dell still coming with useless BIOS and AWCC updates?

Can it be an issue because of my antivirus too or Windows Defender? I'm using bit defender total security but my antivirus never caused such issues, been using it since 2019 when I bought the laptop.

Please help gain those tabs back. I cant use this laptop without underclocking/undervolting it. XTU doesn't even launch so I can't use that. I want to use this laptop's default software as a normal user would do.

All,

* Go back to the top of this Alienware Laptops board
* Open the Pinned posts, "Core Isolation Memory Integrity, incompatibility"

You haven't provided the CPU model you have, which is information required for anyone to answer correctly.

I'm also having this issue. It's so annoying!! I think this all happened when I installed the new windows update that was released a couple weeks ago. Dell, please fix this ASAP!!

My current solution was using throttlestop for the undervolting/underclocking my CPU back to 3.6 GHz so I prevent any thermals going over 40-50 degrees in idle

Sorry, this is not the solution for this problem, at least not for me. I have those options already disabled. I already said it's no problem cause of core isolation, virtualization, hyper-V etc.

Do you have any other ideas? those are disabled but the CPU overclocking option still not appearing.

I have just spent 2 and a half hours with a dell tech and no solution. Even installed older versions to no avail.

I really don't get why they are SO BAD at maintaining their own software.
