Cpu frequency doesn’t appear
I have two main problems on my Alienware m15 r1
first: I can’t creat or customize my OC on AWCC, when I click nothing happens, all I have is the N/A profile. This problem has been there from the very first day I got my laptop no matter how many times I updated my OC and AWCC.
second: only until recently CPU frequency and temperature readings don’t appear. And GPU and DRAM frequency changed to higher levels causing overheating in the GPU (RTX 2060). Before the issue the GPU temps would stay stable at 60c but now it raises up to 85c while playing the same games I usually play. The GPU usage percentage has gotten higher than it used to be before the issue.
The reading problem occurred suddenly ( I think after the new windows update ). I updated all my drivers, the OC controls and the AWCC everything on my laptop is to-date. I also re installed the AWCC and no changes.

Hi @AWuser welcome to this user to user discussion forum. This is not Dell Support.
Thank you for providing a good opening post description, complete with images.
Please visit Task Manager- Performance - CPU. If the CPU speed has a value, the CPU sensor is working. If CPU speed has no value, the m15 R1 AWCC + OC Controls will not be given this information.
Not sure why this system was delivered with faulty AWCC + OC Controls. If within 30 days of Dell invoice date there is the option to get a replacement system that does not have this fault. Thereafter, the one year Dell basic warranty is activated with the option to purchase extended premium warranty, etc. Please contact Dell Product Support to raise a fault ticket, so that your warranty service is activated.

I have the same Windows 8 bug that the task manager is showing the wrong CPU clock speed. Every other software and operating system is showing the correct clock speed.

Thank you very much @crimsom for the fast replay and being helpful.
There’s a cpu speed value (1.34 GHz) on the performance window. but still not showing on the AWCC, what’s is the reason causing it and raised the gpu frequency?
My warranty has expired, can I still contact Dell Product Support to raise a fault ticket. I wasn’t aware of the OC control problem from the very beginning (when I got my laptop) bc I didn’t know you can adjust and customize OC in any AWCC.

Hi @AWuser thank you for sharing update.
The CPU value in task manager says the speed sensor works, so it could be a poor AWCC installation within Windows 10. From other user's posts, we know that when uninstalling the AWCC application, it does not undertake a clean uninstall and leaves many unwanted files behind. If that is the root cause of this problem, download and install Revo Uninstaller Free to remove AWCC and then OC Controls.
When in local admin account, open Revo Uninstaller Free, to see list of applications. Double click on the AWCC application to open a small window and enable create a restore point, then agree to uninstall the AWCC. When AWCC has been removed another window will appear, please enable Advanced and then click on Scan (see image). Scan will create another window, please delete all files. Scan will create a second window, please delete all files. When scan says all files have been deleted, close Revo Uninstaller Free and Restart (not Shut Down) so that all of these changes are saved.
When system restarts, use Revo Uninstaller Free to delete the OC Controls application, using the same process. This time, Advanced Scan may only create one window, please delete all files. Close Revo Uninstaller Free and Restart (not Shut Down) so that all of these changes are saved.
You are now ready to download the current AWCC and OC Controls update files onto your system. The installation will be undertaken, as if for the first time. Hopefully, the full functions of these applications will now be available.
Please share an update on progress, so that other users derive benefit from your experience. Thank you.
