m15 R1, Alienware Update stuck in an operation

Hi everyone, I have run into an issue regarding the Alienware Update software. Whenever I am trying to check if any update is available, it says, "Warning: An operation is currently in progress. Please wait until it completes." And the operation is stuck at 10% since morning. I am attaching a screenshot of the window. Can anyone please help me fixing this issue? Thanks in advance!Screenshot (2).png

Update all your bios and software drivers including the windows ones.

other thing I can recommend is trying a clean boot.

I have reset my PC and installed everything from the scratch. It works fine now.

Have you canceled the operation and then tried it again?

then I’d recommend reinstalling it after your done doing that,

I closed the process, uninstalled and reinstalled it again but it still shows the same thing. I am using Alienware M15 R1. Please suggest me something.

Hi @iambabai  there have been reports of Dell Update Application corruption.

Use your Service Tag to download m15 R1 Dell Update Application from Drivers & Downloads Here.  (Dell Update Application v3.1.3 Here.) Go to your download location and use run as administrator to launch  Dell Update Application. It will either update or you will have to modify your existing  Dell Update Application. Restart when installation complete. Normal operation of  Dell Update Application should have been reinstated.

If Alienware Update continues to be stuck in an operation, your OS C: disk may have errors or corrupted files. Open a command prompt and run a "chkdsk /f /r /x"  (that's /f for "fix", /r for "relocate" data from bad sectors, /x for "eXit windows". This should clear any disk errors and/or corrupted files. Repeat if necessary.

If this problem persists, it could be a virus. Run a FULL (but NOT reboot) virus check with your existing antivirus; this checks whether the slow update is from a virus. Repeat if necessary.

Remember to tell the Dell Community what works for your m15 R1. Thank you.

Good job!

Keep that in mind whenever this issue ever arises again.
