m15 R7, color codes
Alienware m15 R7
Hi! I've been using my laptop for gaming and noted for some games, while playing, the laptop start to blink green and then after a while, the green color change to red. Does anyone knows what that means? There are no guide for those color codes and blinking. Thanks!

Hi @Nachoescence welcome to this free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.
Some games have their own LED codes. The Alienware m15 series has Hybrid Power Design. Alienware 15 R3/15 R4/17 R4/17 R5/M15/M17 performance issue or battery drain while AC adapter is connected | Dell US. The game LED code may indicate using battery power (blinking green) and indicate when battery power is low (red) and battery should be charged by ac adapter.

Thank you @crimsom !! As per your solution, seems the game (Civilization VI) was activating the color codes from the alienware. Seems a developing failure already mentioned.

Hi @Nachoescence thank you for sharing the game Civilization VI gives these colour codes.
Civ 6 causes m15 Keyboard backlight to return to default blue and flicker while running : Alienware (reddit.com)
If you have a computer with RGB lighting keyboard the keyboard will change to be the colour of your civ or red when at war : civ (reddit.com)
It is a game
bug"feature", Civilization VI uses some kind of SW interact with RGB lighting. When the game loads the keyboard colour defaults back to the light blue colour, and blinking red when at war. It has been around for a while, but no way to turn it off within game settings. Disabling the laptop's 'Use Compatible RGB lighting hardware' option in-game should fix this issue. It seems to affect other PC brands as well, especially if they have RGB keyboard.
