m17 R1, Power Plans don’t work anymore
I recently received my Alienware m17 R1 back from support for fixing a faulty CPU fan, and ever since I got it back, power plans have not been functioning properly. Switching them doesn’t seem to change anything other than screen brightness. I modified some of the processor power management settings in my power plans and nothing changes between them even if I set my minimum and maximum processor state to low percents then back to 100. Any help would be appreciated as I can’t find anyone else with this issue!

You need to check if power saving mode works.
To verify its not a windows issue, just go to the battery icon in the icontray and click it. If it’s in high performance mode with the sliders being on the right. That means it will leave the laptop in high-performance mode Even if the power plans say power saving.

There are no sliders, just a button for battery saver that’s greyed out when my computer is plugged in.

I can't see what you posted for some reason. They show up as yellow triangles.

You have to get your image approved first then others can see it.

I can see your pictures now. Can you see mine? If not, how do I get it approved?

I don’t know, you have to be logged in or something to get them to show but I can see them on your profile.
