m17 R3, AWCC OC not working
Hi,
There was an update for AWCC OC (overclock controls) today. I clicked ok and installed it. Now the thermals and overclock features are just loading and not working. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times. Also tried installing older version. Could someone please help? I tried playing a game without the fan controls and now i'm just overheating and thermal throttling.

Hi @mikelin814 welcome to this user to user forum. This is not Dell Support.
For Alienware m15 and m17, the i7 & i9 CPU OverClocking (OC) option is undertaken by adjusting the BIOS & AWCC Power Limit (PL) on the processor. Different power limits are built into the thermal profiles in AWCC. Does your AWCC HOME tab say OC turned OFF?
Please confirm that your new m17 R3 has the Alienware Overclocking option preinstalled, and then follow this guidance to reinstate OC factory setting.
If the problem persists, please contact Dell Product Support to discuss your Dell warranty, extended warranty options. Send Private Message to DELL-Cares, and then escalate complaint if your new m17 R3 has a fault or is not the product you ordered.

It was working when I first got it but after I was given a notification to update overclock controls it stopped working. It doesn’t say off both thermal and over lock just shows the loading icon constantly.
