m17 R3, screen bleed

EA82BF2D-9409-4D0A-9B44-D94E7414CD4F.jpeg

Hi,

I have recently purchased a m17 r3 laptop with a 144Hz screen from alienware and have noticed screen bleeding on the screen when placed in a dark background.

the laptop is brand new I would like to inquire if this level of screen bleed is acceptable and will it affect my day to day usage of the laptop and if it might get worse in the near future.

(I took this photo with a mobile camera so it might enhance the screen bleed a bit)

thank you

Hi @Rami 12  this new m17 R3 has been delivered with an out of the box major fault. You have 30 days from your purchase date to reject this system. You should reject immediately by telling the vendor that this system has a major fault and is not fit for purpose. You might be offered a replacement, but your original warranty date will still apply and after 30 days the Dell warranty will kick in and you will be offered refurbished parts for your new laptop, which may disappear for weeks until these parts become available. If the vendor is not nearby and a replacement will not arrive within a couple of days, insist on an immediate full refund.

I have done my research online and this seems to be over the acceptable limit for screen bleed, especially for a brand new $2000 laptop. It’s extremely disappointing that a company as big as Dell have such poor quality control over their expensive laptops. I will make sure thank I contact them and insist on a replacement. Let's hope that the other screen is not worse than this from what I have seen through other users.

thank you
