From the manual, the system will take two M.2 2280 drives plus one M.2 2230.
Your Alienware m17 R4 supports one of the following storage configurations:
Most 4T drives (if not all of them) will be 2280 -- so no problem adding one (or replacing the existing drive) with a 4T unit.

You will need to provide the model number (m17 R4, area 51m R2, etc.) for anyone to answer.
