m17 R4, stop charging battery when it reaches 90%?
How can I make my laptop stop charging at 90%. I went to the BIOS and I couldn't find custom under Battery Charge Configuration. I saw online that you can use the Dell Power Manager app but the Dell site says that my laptop isn't compatible with that? I use my laptop frequently and I want to prolong the battery life as long as possible.

Hi @Asidhu11 welcome to this free user to user Alienware laptop discussion forum. This is not Dell Support.
When working from home, use ac adapter to power laptop, and prolong battery life with BIOS Advanced tab, Express Charge enabled to Primarily AC Use. The smart Dell charging software will prolong battery life and there is no requirement to stop charging at 90%.

The Alienware m17 series has Dell Hybrid Power Design Alienware 15 R3/15 R4/17 R4/17 R5/M15/M17 performance issue or battery drain while AC adapter is connected | Dell US and the battery charges to 100%. The BIOS Express Charge enabled to Primarily AC Use ensures that laptop is powered from ac adapter during normal use. Battery discharge is an expected behaviour of hybrid power design on Alienware m17 systems to maintain full system performance under extreme heavy loading conditions.

So Primarily AC Use only charges up to 90% and I don't need to worry about the battery life shortening.
