The OEM Alienware M17xR3 / M17xR4 9-cell Laptop Battery 90Wh Dell P/N 5WP5W, 7XC9N is US $79.95 and includes 1 Year Warranty. Search on internet for your local vendors with similar purchase price.
I will look around, I have seen a few different manufacturers, all for around that purchase point. Are they all about the same, or is there one manufacturer shall I say… “better” than the rest?
There are many online batteries that are not genuine, you are wise to be cautious.
Advocate getting additional purchase protection from Amazon or eBay. On delivery look at year/month date beneath square matrix code on white label. A new OEM battery with Dell P/N 5WP5W, 7XC9N, etc. should be less than six months old. Avoid battery that does not have white label.
Your only option these days will be an aftermarket one. Here in Australia they are usually around $60-70AUD. They will not be as good as an OEM battery as they use lower quality cells. But this is the tradeoff as a battery with top quality cells would cost $250-300.
Don't believe ebay stores that promise a top quality battery with a long charge life when they are selling them so cheap. You get exactly what you pay for. Cheap battery = cheap cells.
You can get the old battery repacked though. You will just need to find someone locally that can do it and I wouldn't suggest trying it yourself as it can be very dangerous.
