M17x R4 Geforce 1070 Upgrade
Hello everyone,
Just trying to line my ducks up in a row before my 1070 arrives.
My Current setup is:
Alienware M17xR4 (2012)
Bios - A15
Display - 120Hz FHD (1920x1080)
GPU - Nvidia GTX 680M
CPU - i7 3840QM
PSU - 240W Power Adaptor
SATA Operation (Bios) - RAID
OS - Windows 10/Linux Mint (Dual Boot)
Other then decent thermal pads/paste, is there anything I should be mindful of when installing? Going off what I have seen, the Linux nVidia Drivers should be fine with recognising the new display card before I upgrade the drivers, however I'm not certain about Windows 10.
I have read a few previous posts about this type of upgrade, but is there anything I need to do 'prior' to taking the old graphics card out?
Thank you for any help you can provide.

I would just recommend taking a look at the service manual to follow the correct steps for replacement. There aren't many photos present but it would be the only documentation we'd have on it.
