m18 R1, keyboard problem

Keyboard layout is goofy (yes I'm using tech terms).  The . is where the> should be, the , is where the < should be, the ? is where the / should be, the \ is where the | should be, etc and so on. This is <Profanity is never allowed on our Forum. DELL-Admin> . I'm returning the computer but from discussing this problem with support I understand all of the m18 r1 AMD 9's are exactly the same. Hey Alienware - what gives? I'm been using AW for many, many years and this is a first. I've got 5 computers in our home and this is the only one that came with a weird keyboard.
