Warranties don't cover batteries except for the first year because it is a consumable device. Sounds like the battery has failed. Try removing it and use the adapter alone. It that works, the adapter is ok. Use it like that until you can replace the computer. You might not find a battery for it from Dell. It has to be a genuine Dell replacement. Beware of the scams online. Batteries are expensive as are adapters, so lots of sketchy resellers.
The error message about the AC Adaptor was there from the beginning and never fixed. Considering that error says the battery may not work properly I am sure that contributed or directly caused the battery failure. The techs refused to look at any of the 3 issues. Also, when I bought the extended service they said that it was covered. It is the only reason I bought it. Dell says none of that stuff is covered because its consumables, but when they tried to fix it the first two times they swapped out things like the motherboard, which isn't a consumable. The issue started from day one and was never resolved and that is why my battery died. All the reviews on here say the same thing. Excellent machines, unless you get a defective one. Then you cant get help. Seems like I should have checked here first. If dell doesnt want to send me a part that probably cost them 15$ then they will have lost a lifelong customer. That, and they could at least fix the issue that I had from day one..... they have had a long time to think about it.
