Throttlestop not working anymore

Hello all, so as we all know throttlestop is used to set the cpu to a certain frequency and undervolt and other useful things. But now it fails to keep my cpu at 4.2ghz and instead throttles all the way down to 2.5ghz while gaming. This happened after a bios update, not sure which one. Ive downgraded several times but the issue persists. I know Alienware likes to lock down their systems but i see this as being totally unacceptable to advanced users. If my temperatures are well within limits, why are you forcing me to throttle? This makes a huge difference in cpu heavy games like battlefield. Any suggestions are welcome and thank you in advance.

Hi @yummiermussel6 welcome to this free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.

Please click on Product Support so that Dell can identify Model and Revision number to be shared in next message, example: Alienware x17 R2. Was the system purchased with a Dell warranty and is it active? What operating system is being used, Windows 11, Windows 10 64-bit, etc.?

Please run windows Reliability Monitor and wait for creation of event timeline. How to use Windows Reliability Monitor to identify software issues | Dell US.  Look for, open and share reoccurring event, which includes root cause and Microsoft error code.

yummiermussel6,

To receive assistance from Dell Chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Click the "Get help now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. Provide to them the private Service Tag.

Note, there are other reports on this board of ThrottleStop not working after installing Dell BIOS updates.
