Activity Failed - client initiated backup for this plugin is disabled
Has anyone ever received this error in Avamar 7.0.0.427? I am trying to backup a VM and consistently getting this error. There is no plugin needed on the client as Avamar is dong block level VMware backups.
Thanks, Ray

Hello Ray,
Could you please provide detailed logs, that would be helpful to identify the issue.

Hey,
Did you installed right plugin for VMware? You said client initiated backup failed. So, how about the initiate backup from Avamar server?

I didn't install Avamar. A third party setup and configured the environment. Is there more than one plugin for VMware? Client and server backups fail for this particular backup.

I'm sorry to let you confused. I mean that did you deployed proxy client successfully and it works normally? If the server and client backups all failed, please try to restart the proxy client then back again.

Thank you for your help. After speaking with EMC support I guess this is a known issues and they need to upgrade my Avamar environment to the latest available release.

Hi,
what was the issue observed.
As per your log :
Activity failed - client initiated backup for this plugin is disabled
There will be an option on the Grid to enable/disable the client initiated backups.
Please check on the AVAMAR GUI.
