Avamar AVE kernel error

Hello,

Lately I have experienced this error on one of our AVE (v7.0.1-61) appliance:

kernel error: Aug 9 18:16:39 ep-avmr01 kernel: avtar.bin[31330]: segfault at 0000000000000060 rip 0000000000abffe1 rsp 0000000044604200 error 4

I don't have maintenance for it. I was wondering did any of you had similar problems and maybe have some kind of remedy? All seem to work as it should backups and restore are working fine.

Thanks for help

The Avamar client software is installed on the utility node and is used for things like backing up the local databases once an hour and performing replication. The Avamar Administrator Server (MCS) also uses it under the hood to retrieve listings of backup contents.

One of these invocations is crashing and the crash is being reported to the OS. How often does this message appear?

    Thanks for your answer Ian

The kernel error message appeared only once so far. Maybe the source of error is that node is near it peak capacity. Right now it is about 70%. Do you think it is safe to ignore this error for now?

As long as the system is operating normally, it's safe to ignore this message.
