Avamar - Backup resulted in "Dropped Session" status; but no errors reported?
Hello,
I've seen instances where the Avamar backup resulted in "Dropped Session" status.
When I reviewed the log file on the Avamar server, there were no errors reported and it shows the backup completed sucessfully. Has anyone seen this? Is this a false positive in that Avamar is reporting incorrectly?

If the backup is available for restore, the Dropped Session status is misleading.
It's possible that the backup wrapped up but the connection was never closed and the session was eventually reported to the Administrator Server as dropped. Does this happen consistently? If so, you may want to open a service request for the issue. I know some versions of the Windows client have an issue where sessions do not wrap up cleanly that might explain what you're seeing.

Is the backup available for restore in the Avamar Administrator GUI?

Thank you @ianderson. Actually we have seen Dropped Sessions occur periodically, but this is the first time where I've seen no error reported and the backup completed successfully. I will monitor and if I see this reoccurring, I will open a case. I will check the client version. In most cases we are running v6.1 clients; however, we have a few W2K servers thus we had to deploy an earlier verison of Avamar. Thanks again.
