Avamar Bare Metal restore to a virtual (VMware)
Using Avamar 7.0.2. trying to restore a physical Windows 2008 R2 server that was backed up via Avamar to a VMware virtual. VMware ESXi v5.5. I created a VM, and I boot the Avamar ISO WinPE, it sees the nic, sees the disks, talks to the Avamar server and finds a backup to restore. It fails initializing the disks. Everything I find using Google says the size of the VM disks are wrong. They're fine, I've tried exact same size, a lttle bigger, a lot bigger, etc. They all fail. Tried different virtual disk controllers, but only LSI SAS works to even see the disk to begin with.
Has anyone done this successfully ? I have EMC onsite and their last try was the 7.1 ISO which failed as well.

Hello Jeff,
First of all, your environment meet the BMR requirement. Avamar supports BMR from 2008 R2 to VMware ESX 5.5 VM. But, there are so many requirements for the P2V. Please refer to the following guide to verify whether your configuration meet these requirements. BMR requirements section in page 120.
Avamar 7.0 for Windows Server User Guide
Hope this helps!

It meets all of them. EMC SE onsite says it must be a driver issue. Hard for me to believe that the ISO does not come with drivers for a VMware virtual, but whatever. They tried to build a new ISO with drivers. Must have done something wrong because the ISO will not boot.
