Avamar Bare Metal Restore
I am trying to do a bare metal restore from my Avamar system to a Windows 2008 R2 server. I have booted to WinPE and when I get to the screen where I enter the Avamar server, Avamar user name, Avamar password, Avamar Domain, and Avamar Account I get the message:
“Error trying to validate Avamar server credentials:
Validation error. Cannot establish connection with server (possible network or DNS failure) (536870920)”
Reading the documentation I have entered the following values for these values
Avamar server: MyAvamar.mydomain.com
Avamar username: tried several (MCUser, admin, root, administrator account for Windows server I'm restoring from)
Avmar password: corresponding password to username
Avamar domain: /
Avamar account: /Servers/RestoreFromServer.mydomain.com (matches the server name in the Administrator tab)
I've verified that I can ping the Avamar server from this VM by IP and name so I don't believe it's a network issue. What credentials do I need to use here?

The fields in that step of the wizard are case-sentive, are you sure that they match parfectly as per Avamar GUI?

MCUser should work, i create a local Avamar account in the domain where my physical windows server reside.
For Avamar Domain i specified the actual domain, in my case it's \Windows
For Avamar account i specified the path: \WIndows\servername.mycompany.com

Have you also verified required ports are opened ?
