Avamar hardware documentation
Hello folks,
i am trying to find documentation that covers physical specs and installation of the following components:
This configuration will not be purchased with EMC rack, it will be installed into a commodity Beldin rack. I tried to use power calculator hoping it would give me physical specs but it did not.

As I said, configuring LACP would require an RPQ and it's generally not needed. We certainly don't need the bandwidth.
Gen4 and older nodes use DRAC which can be configured to use a dedicated interface or share one of the other NICs. Gen4S nodes use RMM which is similar. In shared mode, the out of band management interfaces just need an IP. In dedicated mode, they also need a connection to a switch. This is supposed to be mandatory but I still see more customer sites than I'd like where it's not set up. If you have a hung node, it really helps avoid an on-site dispatch if you can remote in and power cycle it.

I believe the RMM4 user guide on Intel's site should describe the modes:

Keep in mind that the RMM is still considered part of the Avamar "black box" so it can only be configured in ways that have been qualified. Some features and configurations described in the guide may be unavailable.

when can i read/research the two modes ?

As far as I know all the functionality is available in both modes. The RMM "piggybacks" its IP onto the physical NIC. It's very similar to the DRAC. I'm not sure what the limitations are in each mode.

Hi Ian, please can you tell me how to exactly configure RMM port as shared in multi node environment as of now i have configured dedicated port so i have given ip to the rmm port which is mentioned in the node as mgt port my work is just to make all the nodes up for remotely installation ,so i have given ip to nic1 from Putty through YAST command for data and to rmm through web console of its default ip for out of band acces but they want it shared so where and how to give the ip for shared rmm, full installation will be done by remotely please assist me thanks .
