Avamar Instant Access - waiting-client

We have a new deployment of Avamar 7 which has been working great. All features seem to be working fine except for one item. We can not get the Instant Access to work. I can recover a given VM just fine but if I try to use the Instant Access feature the status in the Activity Monitor sticks at Waiting-Client. This happens with every VM. I can also mount the VMDK for granular restore just fine. It is only the Instant Access that does not work. Any thoughts?

Yes I have tried it with the original VM powered off and I have also deleted the original completely with the same results.

Just curious though, why would either be necessary. The only option I have available within Instant Access is to restore the VM to a new virtual machine. So the original should not necessarily need to be turned off correct?

Instant Access is only for Avamar systems where is as a backup medium used DataDomain.

This feature"Instant Access" is for quick access to backup without restore process. It's mean that VM is started directly from DD medium. You can check for ex. that this VM was working fine 10 days ago, before M$ updates, before Application upgrade and so on. Of course You can use it as a clone method - I mean you can take backup of production VM, then use instant access and use "new machine" as test env. (check upgrades, some application settings etc.)
