Thanks for the reply and I will go through the user guide you sent. I have looked at similar user guides before though and the questions I have are not just about how to use Avamar for SQL database backups but also what actually happens behind the scenes when a database backup is done by Avamar. I haven't been able to find anywhere that actually explains that yet.
