Cannot see all of Exchange 2010 Databases

Hi, we are setting up Avamar for the first time. We are deploying Avamar 6.1. Part of the deployment is the backing up of the Exchange 2010 databases.

We have three Exchange servers in our DAG network. All three have the mailbox role on them and all three have public folders also.

Two work fine but on the third one, if I go into the Avamar Administrator and try to backup the databases using Windows Exchange VSS the administrator program does not see the regular Exchange 2010 databases in order to back them up but they do see the public folder.

I know I have full connectivity to the 3rd Exchange system that does not show the mailbox databases. It is replicating data between all 3 DAG servers fine and Exchange shows everything is okay.

The server that does not show all the databases is in a different subnet if that makes a different.

I am completely new to this product and I trying to come up to speed fast. It looks like it is configured correctly according to the installation manual.

Any help is appreciated on what could be wrong.

Thanks

Thanks that solved it. I had to change the EnableVSSWriter regkey to 1 and restart the Exchange Replication Service. I can now see all the databases.

Further testing has shown that it just will not show databases that are passive. When I create a new active mailbox database or activate a passive database, Avamar can see them fine.
