Changing root password (avamar server) without change-passwords

I dont know my MCUser password or the root password, so when I run change-passwords I cant input root to progress.

I found out about mccipher decrypt -all which would work, but its looks like that command was deprecated in at least 18.2 (works on one of our 7.5s, not the 18.2s)

Is there another way to do it? I tried to change the decrypted password in mcserver.xml and using mccipher encrypt -all to encrypt it as the password I know, but that didnt work either.
