does Avamar Linux client 6.1 support file level backups to data domain?
We are running Avamar 7, but I have one client that was not upgraded yet on one server backing up to Avamar I am trying to figure out why this client is pointing its backup to the grid when it is setup to point to the DD. is it cause of the client version?

Hey,
Whether any client, if you want to backup data to DataDomain , you need Avamar client version 7.0 or later. You can check it from Table 2: EMC Avamar client file system, operating system, and platform compatibility of Avamar Compatibility and Interoperability Matrix on page 7.

Filesystem backups to Data Domain require client version 7. The Avamar 6.1 client will always write filesystem backups to the Avamar back-end.
