DTLT Authentication problems
Hi all,
I am working on DTLT backup and run in some authentication troubles which results in no backup of laptops and desktops systems. Server backup, vmware image backup are working OK but unfortunately laptop and desktop backup is still an issue. I have tried two scenarios all with different problems.
Scenario 1
I uses Avamar Authentication by adding the line user-login-module=avamar to ldap.properties and restart the dtlt service. When I create a Backup/Restore role User account authentication fails when i try to initiate a backup on the client. I am sure the credentials are correct but somehow the authentications fail. Do I missing something or is there another problem.
Scenario 2
When I switch to LDAP authentication I can start the activation manager and login in Active Directory. So far it’s OK. I can browse through Active Directory but the Group Assignments pane is empty. I don't see any groups in the Group Assignments pane and as far as I now I should see de Clients group by default. Because there are no available groups I can't add laptops to the groups in the Group assignments pane.
Because both scenarios doesn't work (both scenarios are ok for me) I running out of options and I hope someone can help me to solve this issue.
Thanks
Hans

Hans, a couple of comments that may help.
Scenario 1:Be sure to assign the user to the computer that you are trying to create the backup, not the domain.
Scenario 2: The client is a member of an active group?
