raghav.viswanathan we try to approach that solution, but without success. It was always returned an error saying that the destination machine was not compatible (event with the same number and size of disks).
As a workaround, we use the option 'Restore as new disk(s)' and it works.
1. Create a new virtual machine on our VMware Infrastructure
2. In Avamar Administrator we use the option 'Restore as new disk(s)' and select the machine we created earlier.
But this is a workaround, not a solution for the problem.
Looks like maybe you while starting the restore you are selecting an esxi cluster to restore the VM. try restoring to a specific host. Also make sure all vCenter connections in avamar are ok.
As a workaround you can also try creating the new VM manually with the same number and size of vmdk and restore to it.
Can you let me know avamar server and proxy version. Also request you to please upload the complete log file for the restore task. (download support bundle from the activity monitor for the failed restore. Also a screenshot of the attempted restore.

Not sure but hope it helps.
Also ensure user has appropriate privileges and vCenter connections from Avamar are running while you try restore.
