Filter activity and wild cards

Hello folks,

Under Activity Monitor, is it possible to use wild cards to filter for specific host names.  For example i change status to "Failed" and then under Client enter oracle*  or something of that nature ?

Thank you

Hello,

It does not look like it is possible to use wild cards to filter for specific host names, I will submit an request for enhancement to see if this could be included in a future release.

In the mean time you have some other options:

  • Go into the "Activity report" tab and export a report in CSV format and open it in Excel to then filter using the Excel data manipulation tools.
  • Use the MCS user account "viewuser" to access the MCS database from an external tool via an ODBC connection, you can then use advanced searches and tools to sort out the activities, see the Avamar 7.0 Administration Guide or the Avamar 7.1 Reports Guide for more information on how to do this (See the section "Setting up PostgreSQL ODBC driver").

Hope that helps.

Regards

Adam

it has been requested before - I know I did.

it was the first thing I disliked about Avamar - you cannot wildcard anywhere it in.

the best place for a wild card is in restore

if you don't know the exact file name - you cannot wildcard it but have to search each day!
