Policy Based Replication Question
If I set my replication policy to replicate only Daily backups, will those marked for both Daily and Monthly be replicated?
If so, will the replicated backup keep the DM tags and therefore keep the monthly retention setting?

if you choose Daily backups as the source then all backups which are tagged as Daily will only be replicated. I don't think it will replicate the backups tagged as Monthly.

Every Monthly will also be a Daily. Have you actually tested this?

Apparently they are replicated as well. I suppose backups will only be tagged weekly (without a daily tag) is if you only perform weekly backups.
