Generally Speaking, no.

However you might need to upgrade or install the Microsoft .NET to 4.0.

In this case you would have to check with Microsoft to see if a server reboot is required because of the .NET Install/upgrade.

thank you Jeff... I know about .net.  sometimes that does force a reboot.

The Avamar client upgrade doesn't need to reboot the system. But, as I know that we cannot use Client Manager on Avamar 7 to upgrade 5 clients. Because, Client Manager on Avamar 7 can only see Avamar 6 and 7 clients; it is incompatible with Avamar 5 clients. So, if you encountered problems during upgrade, please contact EMC support for resolving. Hope this helps!
