We have an open SR with this same issue. We're running 7.2.101-32 and can't install that same plugin. We were succesfully able to install the 7.1.101-145 plugin, but not the latest.
Our SQL Admin thinks the plugin code is being confused by a registry entry, as we only see this on our Windows 2012 servers. Our Win 2008 R2 SQL cluster is running SQL 2012 and has no trouble with 7.2 client, only the Windows 2012 servers.
I hoping to have a response from Support on this and will reply if I get a response.
