Truncate Exchange 2010 logs
I just finished my Exchange 2010 migration and noticed that my log drive is filling up fast. I checked to make sure the backups are running successfully, and they are; but the transaction logs are not being truncated. I am using the Avamar Exchange VSS plugin for the backups along with the Avamar Windows plugin. In the older/other Avamar Exchange plugin there was an option to truncate the logs but I don't see that in the Exchnage VSS one. Is that an advanced option I can add using the attribute truncatelogs=true? Any help is apreciated.
Thanks,
Don

You may like to check if full backup date is getting updated in database properties after every full backup? If yes, then its Microsoft issue and you may need to contact Microsoft for this issue. Try backup from active node of DAG and see if issue persists. Check event logs for any events coming after backup

Apply SP1 to Exchange 2010 if not already applied

Thanks for the reply Sameer, but we are already running SP1 and this is a standalone server; no DAGs (probably should have put that in my original post).
I read the link you provided and I did have a move request that failed because of some corrupt content. I hate to have to move all my mailboxes to a different database to see if that is the cause of the logs not truncating. If you or anyone else has other suggestions please let me know.
Thanks

Are you running avamar client version 5.0.106.28? Can you post events from exchange server application event log when backup finishes?

I am running 5.0.105-169. I think I fixed the issue. I added the registry entry mentioned in the link you provied, and set the Backup Agent service to run as that user. I had also reinstalled the Exchange VSS plugin before doing that. The logs did get truncated after the backup last night; but I did see some vss errors/warnings in the application log. I am going to look into those, but I guess the issue is resolved.
Thanks
