Unable to backup to certain devices.
I have 5 devices all on the same vlan / subnet / network. The avamar node, and a database and workstation pair, in 2 seperate locations. The one location I can backup and connect to both the workstation, and the db server. However; in the other location I cannot backup either device.
If I use telnet to test the working nodes, on port 28002 I can reach those nodes. However; on the nodes I cannot reach port 28002 seems blocked. There is no ACL in use between these devices; I have verified the subnet mask and default gateway on each device involved.
I can ping all 4 devices from the Avamar node. And I can Telnet to test port 28002 from the workstation, to the db server and it is successful. (which takes the same path as Avamar node; but then it is blocked?).
If anyone could assist me with some troubleshooting steps or point me in the right direction.
Also, on the node that I cannot Backup -- I can telnet with port 27000, 28001, and 29000 from the DB server back to the Avamar Node.

Hello,
I am confused with above statement. Do you want to say that you can telnet one node on port 28002 and failed to telnet another node on port 28002 ?
To make it simple, please make sure you have ports opened bidirectional. Also, see if there is any firewall enabled which may cause blocking.
As per admin guide -
Must allow bidirectional communication between the Avamar server and each client computer using TCP data port 28002.

Adding on, there are cases where Firewall needs to be configured with some set of rules for backup VLAN (to be care by FW team). Also, you might try adding some static routes belong to the subnets on client and avamar side to enable to communication. Routes can be given by network team.
