Corriclum for Big Data degree

Hi everyone,

I am working on developing a curriculum for a community college for a certificate about Big Data, does anyone have a good resource for curriculum already in place and materials ( text books ) for the class. Is there any industrial certifications for Big Data? because if so, i would try to map out the classes to prep the students to take the exams for these certificates.

    Hi Meghonimy,

    we recently completed the Big Data MOOC at EMC. It is a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC).

    it is still available on demand and I am sure you will find lots of useful information and supporting materials there for your project.

    Berry,

    Thanks for your response, i checked the courses offered by EMC and it sounds pretty good but cost is little bit high for me. I hope EMC alliance will make cheaper rates for educators specially for schools that are members in the EMC alliance.

    Thanks a lot for recommending these classes, as a matter of fact i started my first class in coursera few hours before i saw your message but your answer definitely made me feel that i am on the right track.
