MX7000
One of the controller modules failed on a MX7000. Is there way to reinstall a clean image on a new nvme from the controller module that is still working?

Hello,
I'm not sure what the NVMe you are talking about is. Can you give some more information about that?
When you install the second CMC then the existing CMC will bring it up to date.
See Installing the second management module here:

@DELL-Charles R Excellent. I'll erase the drive in the CMC module and recover the firmware using the other CMC. Thanks for you help.

Same issue. The serial output on the second management module says, "System has no bootable device". Is there a way to reinstall the OS on the second module?

Hello Mark1124,
Have you followed the steps on the directions provided on the link above?
https://dell.to/3O0tqN4
Where did you get the error "System has no bootable device"?
Typically, during MM part replacement, when the standby MM is replaced causing a firmware mismatch, an alert is displayed on the web interface with a link to synchronize MM firmware. Wait for about 15 minutes after the alert is displayed and click the link to perform the synchronization.
Which Management Module is active one?
What is the firmware version on that MM?
Also do you know the firmware on the replacement MM?

@DELL-Charles R
I am getting the "System has no bootable device" error on the 2nd MM via the serial port. They should both have the same firmware. I am guessing the 2nd MM wont boot and it is not synchronizing at all?
The MM firmware version on both of them should be is 1.30.10. Is there a way to recover the OS on the 2nd MM?

Hello,
The firmware is the OS for the Management Modules.
Try these steps to make sure the second one is same firmware as MM1:
Updating management module firmware

I cannot access the OME–Modular web interface on second MM anymore and the serial output only says "System has no bootable device". MM2 connected by itself does nothing anymore.
I appreciate any help thank you.

Hi,
I've not heard of MX7000 MM having an error with System has no bootable device before. I've tried to look through for articles if there is any documented instruction to revive corrupted boot sector on MM, but there is none.
