Applying quota on share level in a Filesytem

Hi,

I have a single filesystem of 400 GB , my requirement is to create 2 shares say share A and share B, with share A of size 350 GB and share B of size 50 GB .. how can i apply quota on share level ??

i have already created the filesystem and 2 shares on it , just finding way to apply this Hard quota so one share (share A) doesnt steal space from other share (share B) if say share A runs out of space which would be 350GB..

Since, there is no need to link the directory and share manually , is it mandatory to create the share name same as directory name , so share can be accessible as // / and quota which is applied on directory gets applied to share ..

I have 2 shares on my single filesystem presented to one CIFS server ..

no, for Windows they do not have to be same

the quota for directory dirA (treequota) will always be 50GB - no matter what name the share has that points to it
you could even call it dirB - still the same 50GB but probably confusing

with UNIX NFS, the client path can be same as server/source or could be diffrent too.

well - the part of the client path up to the mount point is butyou need to use server's file system (export) path to mount it
with NFS there is no concept of a sharename like in CIFS
