EMCABE errormessage NetShareSetInfo failed

Hi,

We're experiencing an error regarding Access Based Enumeration.

On a fileserver ABE has to be enabled on a share, so we issue the proper command and get an error

Get status first

C:\mgt\emcabe\nt>emcabe /G /S admin$ /T server049

EMCABE 02.00

Copyright ⌐ 2007, All Rights Reserved,
        by EMC Corporation, Hopkinton MA.

ABE is disabled on share admin$

Change status

C:\mgt\emcabe\nt>emcabe /E /S admin$ /T server049

EMCABE 02.00

Copyright ⌐ 2007, All Rights Reserved,
        by EMC Corporation, Hopkinton MA.

NetShareSetInfo failed on \\server049\admin$ (5) Error=0x00000005: Access is denied.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

Thanks,

Peter

    Hi,

the user account does not have administratives proviledges on the share.

Please execute this with a admin user.

We had some troubles connecting these 2 Celerra's in the AD-domain indeed, but now, this appears correct.

    - we can login into the Celerra with domain\username and password.

    - testing domain connectivity in Security|Administrators|Domain Settings is OK.

    - in Security|Administrators|Groups a Group domain_users exist with Role nasadmin, in this group the members appear correctly after login.

    - in Security|Administrators|Users the domain usernames appear correctly as Local Names with correct Domain, Primary Group and Groups settings.

But still we cannot enable the ABE settings of the shares of 2 Celerra's, while 23 others are correct.

Quite normal – if something doesnt work its typically either the Windows domain admin or the network admin at fault ☺

I typically blame it on admins not reading the documentation ☺
