Hardware Status Removed -Shelf 1/0 Disk 4 standing in

I have verified the disk on the backend clariion is fine with no faults. How do I get rid of the annoying message? There must be a CLI like: server_fix this annoying message -please -noprompt

Hi,

First of all, welcome to the EMC support forums.

The message you are getting on the Celerra manager - is that a repetitive one? Have you checked whether the HS has really kicked in?

On CLARiiON - it may happen that a disk is not physically marked faulty - but there may be media errors or too many soft errors, which can cause the hot spare to be kicked in to replace the disk. So, the message you are seeing may be a true one. However, at times, the backend status needs to be cleared on the Java server on Celerra which may provide old status.

I 'll prefer to engage EMC Support to check the Celerra and the CLARiiON thoroughly and advise you accordingly.

Thanks,
Sandip

Thanks for the welcome! I have already opened a case and was in the process of getting it reassigned to 8-5 cst support. I originally opened the case to Clariion support and they verified the backend was fine, then handed it to Celerra support to check the CS. I started this thread in the interim to see if it was a simple fix.

Thanks for checking with us on the forum. There are others who may comment/suggests. However, I don't think this may be easy to fix this without looking into the box. So, run it by the support guys as you are doing. I understand there is no issue with the data access or users access to the data - it's only the incorrect notification sent to you.

Wish to hear from you more and more on the forums. :)
Regards,
Sandip
