MAC 10.7

Is anyone else having issues trying to mount a cifs share?  I know that apple put in new SMB code but should it still work?   Do you have users using 10.7 and connecting to the cellera through cifs?  We know apple put us in this mess but I'm trying ot figure out of this could possibly be fixed @ the celerra level or could it possibly be a dfs or AD issue?

We did apply the panic patch but that didnt help with this issue.

There is quite a number of customers using Celerra/VNX with 10.7 Lion

Just make sure you have the necessary code level – otherwise the data mover will panic.

There was an ETA about this patch sent to all customers in March and again when Lion went GA

Mike - Did you get this issue fixed? or any progress on it?

My organization is having a heck of a time with 10.7 clients and CIFS shares on the VNX.

We use a combination of AD and LDAP authentication, and do not use usermapper.

The situation is that a Mac users can not see their home directory in the Finder, however they can see it via Terminal (command line).

The crux of this appears to be that when Apple did away with samba in favor of their own homebrew, they added in an additional level of permission checking to the Finder.

Curious if anyone else out there is working on this? I have cases open with both Apple and EMC and have done a number of escalations. Unfortunately it's a lot of back and forth finger pointing with me in the middle.

We can make permissions work by addition an addition ACL, however this is not desirable as the ACL has to be added to every folder, and breaks unix permissions.

IBM proventia.. It had nothing to do with the celerra. It could have been windows and it's still would fail due to the packets the Mac was sending. I can get which rule it was if needed.
