Microsoft Search Server 2008 displays data from CIFS share,without ACL

Hello,

we have a NS40 and the customer is using win 2008 Search Server.
The windows server shows the cifs shares without ACL.
Does anybody saw this behavior before.

what code are you running ? I think 5.6.40+ started supporting windows 2008.

probably the easiest way to rule out it's the dart code version would be to download and install the latest celerra simulator. It runs 5.6.x dart ..

at the moment 5.5.21-402 is running


well - that was released in May 2006 so I'm not surprised

You should really upgrade to at least the latest 5.5 release

Or better (if possible) to 5.6.42 which introduces SMB2 support that 2008 likes

Hello,

I have found out that the search server can find all share from the Celerra with no problems and dispaly this shares. But to display the searched files is the problem.

Example.

You like to search for files with ACL for the human resources department only.
The search server shows this files but you have now acces. This behavior seems to be o.k. But if you have employee informations in the file names everyone can see this informations in the file name. ( example file name: dissuasiveness achim kramer ) Now everybody can see that Achim Kramer has get a dissuasiveness.
At the moment Microsoft is also involved. If I have new information I like to update the forum.
