NS502G Lun Addition Heavy Delay

I am having an issue with a NS502 Gateway with a CX3-40c on the back end. Anytime I add a lun or 2 to the gateway storage group on the clariion, it takes anywhere between 20-60 minutes for the lun to show up properly in a "server_devconfig server_2 -probe -scsi -d" command. It immediately shows up as :

tid/lun= 1/15 type= disk sz= 0 val= -5 info= DGC RAID 5 032447001F0147NI


However after the 20-60 minute delay of not doing anything ... it then shows up properly as:

tid/lun= 1/15 type= disk sz= 392083 val= 28 info= DGC RAID 5 032447001F0147NI


This is just an example. However it happens every time. Am I missing something? I haven't encountered this issue on other systems before. Has anyone else?
