Previous versions access through Windows

Hi all,

We have recently upgraded to 5.6.48.705 on out production NS80.  We use checkpoints as a way of user initiated restore, but this upgrade seems to have caused some odd behaviour.

Users access shared areas through DFS, and in the past could navigate to the missing data and recover from a previous version.  Now however the previous version list is empty.  If however a user navigates directly to their data via the CIFS name and share the previous versions are visible.

Any ideas welcome as this is one of the key selling points for the business.

Cheers,

Hi,

There is primus article for the issue 'Previous Versions tab for file or a folder in a DFS share is not displayed in WK3 and XP '.

Please refer the Primus solution emc125111

let us know if this helps.

Jithin,

Thanks for the link, I have had a look.  Sadly this does not seem to be the issue.

It seems to be an issue enumerating the previous versions via DFS.  If I browse directly to the CIFS location these are instantly visible, via DFS it is hit and miss.

I'm wondering if anything in the new code has affected this functionality.  Any other ideas?

Looks like this is the same issue:

using the .ckpt folder works fine for me also.
