Needing some clarity on setting Data Mover Load Notification

When setting up a Notification to send an email or SNMP alert... Specifically for Data Mover Load or Memory utilization, There is a START Interval and Interval Length.

I'm trying to understand if the interval length is the "END TIME".

For example. I have the Interval Start time set to 00:01 and the Length set to 23:59.

I want to be notified if the CPU reaches 95% and is sustained there for lets say...OOOOO... how about 5 minutes.

With that said, how can I set these alerts to get that ?

Thanks !!!

This is a great question.  Has this been answered?

looks like you want the SubInterval Method

Just press Help when you create the notification in Celerra Manager - then you can get the description of the fields:

Rainer

----

Computation Method

Select the computation method to use.

  • Averages Method: When the average of all readings within the specified interval exceeds the limits set, the specified action for the notification will be triggered.
  • SubInterval Method: Within the interval length, specify the length of a subinterval. If within the interval length there exists a subinterval for which all measurements exceed the limits set, the specified action for the notification will be triggered.
  • Percentage Method: When the specified percentage, or more, of all readings within the specified interval exceeds the limits set, the specified action for the notification will be triggered.
Sub Interval Length

Type the length of time, specified in hours and minutes (hh:mm), and less than the interval length. Applies only to the SubInterval Method.

If all measurements exceed the limits in any subinterval of the interval specified by Interval Start and Interval Length, the specified action for the notification will be triggered.

Percentage

Type the percentage of all readings within the specified interval that must exceed the specified limit. Applies only to the Percentage Method.

If this percentage, or more, of the readings within the specified interval, exceeds the specified limit, the specified action for the notification will be triggered.

ID

All communications based on this notification (for example, alerts and email) contain this identifier.

Data Mover

Name of the Data Mover for which notification conditions have been set.

Interval Start (time of day)

Type the time each day (hh:mm) to start monitoring CPU and memory usage.

Interval Length

Type the length of time (hh:mm) to monitor CPU and memory usage. The start time plus the interval length should not span midnight or you will receive a pop-up error.

Memory Limit

Type the threshold used by the specified computational method to determine whether to trigger a notification.

CPU Limit

Type the threshold used by the specified computational method to determine whether to trigger a notification.
