SNMP polling

Question

I have SNMP setup on a NX4 and i would like to poll the NIC usage on this system via SNMP on an ipmonitor system we use. I dont see anything that shows the bandwitch via SNMP...is there somthing im missing? Can you Poll Bandwidth, CPU, Memory, or Disk space on the Celerras? I do have SNMP working cause i can walk the MIBs for the device but i just dont see anything related to the system resources i mentioned above. Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.

the data mover interface stats - thats where all the CIFS/NFS/ISCSI work is done

on the control station network interface you would only see the little traffic caused by administration tools like ssh or Celerra Manager GUI

Hi,via SNMP you can get the basic MIB-II information, but not Celerra specific data like memory, disk or file system info.MIB-II should contain interface counters to that you get the info how much bytes were sent / received per interfacePlease consider filing a Product Enhancement Request (PER) via Powerlink if you think more would be usefull.

When looking at the list on SNMP for Celerra these are the options i see - I dont see anything about interface Counters: Whats am i missing??

i have never done this before if you couldnt tell....what im looking for is which MIB to monitor to actually get KBs per sec IN and OUT so i can monitor total bandwidth utilization going in and out of the datamovers. I see several things listed but nothing that points me to which MIB should be used for this...or if its even doable.

sure - thats the interfaces section of the standard MIB-2 on the data mover

for example for cge0:

[nasadmin@NS700G ~]$ snmpwalk -Oq -c public -v 1 server_2 interfaces | grep cge0

if you need the complete OID just use snmpwalk with -Of

too quickly see whats in MIB-2 see http://www.oidview.com/mibs/0/RFC1213-MIB.html

the ifInOctets and ifOutOctets are increasing Byte Counters - there is no kB/sec kept in the stats
any good reporting package will compute that by substracting from the last value and divdide by the sampling interval

If you want kiB/s Info you could get it through the server_stats command

I read it on this threat but I would like to confirm this. How can I Query the NX4 box utilizing an SNMP application. I neec CPU utilization, Current Bandwidth, and all system parameters that the box have. How can I get this information.
