SQl Server 2005 on iSCSI Lun

I created a LUN on my Celerra to use for SQL Server databases. I recently moved the database to the LUN from the DAS and the performance is way down. Query response time has quadrupled in some cases.

I have tried to find any documents, best practices, etc. for hosting SQL on a Celerra LUN, but haven't found any. I am ready to move the databases back to DAS.

Any experience or ideas?

Thanks.

There should be a couple of documents about SQL Server on ISCSI on Powerlink

just check with your local EMC engineer - some of the docs might not be customer visible

couple of things I would check:

- is the network ok - i.e. no power loss (test with ftp or ttcp in both directions)
- is the drive poperly aligned
- is the disk config a good fit for your setup
