when i try to create local user on cifs server standalone

Question

I am trying to connect to another computer by using Computer Management
Console (start - control panel - administrative tools - computer management)

Under "Action" I select "Connect to another computer" and then type in the
name of the computer I want to connect to.

It appears to connect and it shows on the top line "Computer Management
(remote computer name)"

When I click on the drop down for "Performance Logs and Alerts" there is a
red x across the "Local Users and Groups" and when i click on that (local
user...) is says "Unable to access the computer "(remote computer name)".
The error was: The network path was not found.

And when i click on "Services and Applications" and then on "Services" it
says "Unable to open service control manager database on (remote computer
name) Error 5: Access is Denied"

Keep in mind that you have to change the initial Administrator password of the standalone CIFS server using a Windows client (as described in the manual) before you can use it Rainer

I created a standalone CIFS server and I changed the default password but when I want to connect to another computer I got the error: unable to access the computer CIFS_GE_CIFS1. the error was: access is denied.

can you please help on it.

Look at primus emc186399.

Upon creation of a CIFS Server with Local User support, a temporary password is assigned to the Server's Administrator account as part of the command line process. This temporary password must then be changed from a Windows machine, using the procedure outlined in the Fix statement, before administrative access will be granted to the local groups database on the CIFS Server.

Procedure to change the default administrator password for a Standalone CIFS Server:

After logging in to a Windows host, press CTRL + ALT + Delete, and then select “Change Password.”
In the Log on to field, type the IP address (or Name) of the Celerra CIFS Server.
Type the original password used to create the Local Users Support, and then type a new password and confirm. No entry is made in the server log for a successful password change, but a popup will display if successful: "Your password has been changed."
Access the CIFS Server from the standard Computer Management Microsoft MMC snapin tool, but use the procedure outlined in emc180673 or else access to the local groups database will be denied.

I did the above steps and everything is ok but when I am trying to connect to another computer I still got the same error : unable to access the computer CIFS_GE_CIFS1. the error was: access is denied.
