Adding New DIsk drives to CX-700

I have 5 new disk drives for my CX-700. Are these drives hot plug-in-play? DO I have to anything additional on the Array after inserting these drives to make them visible to the array?

just plug them in the appropriate (fibre or ATA) free slots in the empty enclosure slots and click "update now" on the navisphere, the should be detected and ready to be used.
you can then bind raid group using the new disks and proceed to create luns on them.
if for some reason, the navisphere refuses to detect the drives, you will have to restart management server using http://sp_ip_address/setup page (on both sp).
or at worst, reboot the SP one by one (with a few minutes delay between both reboots)

if the array is on latest FLARE revision already you should be all set. if in doubt and you have access to drive compatibility matrix check if your array's FLARE supports them or have your EMC CE do it for you. all clariion field replaceable parts are hot-swappable, all upgrades/add-ons except data-in-place model conversions can be done while online.
once the disks are installed it is recommended to zerodisk them before use (emc159191). it is an engineering level command however, your CE can do it.
