Adding space to a LUN

I currently have 6 LUNs. One of the LUNs has 150gb of space but I am quickly running out. I have another LUN with 100gb that is not being used at all. I would like to add the space to the LUN and from what I understand I can do that by either adding the disks to the LUN or adding it as a meta lun. Once I complete this step, will Windows 2003 see that new space and will it let me use that or will it appear as a separate partition? My goal is to add additional space to a drive without having to move all of the data and recreate all of the permissions in Windows 2003.

I am running on a CX-400
Thanks,

Sander

take a look at this thread:

whichever method you decide to use ..extra space will show up as an extension to your partition, you will simply use diskpart to resize it to its fullest capacity, everything can be done online.

During LUN expansion the data will still be there and this procedure is non diruptive. Just expand the lun, once expansion is complete use dispart in windows for the host to see the new space on the LUN.

I did a lun expansion and it shows the 400gb I added but how do I access it? It doesn't seem to let me utilize it for my VMWare servers...

You can see what I have here... http://www.faster340.com/lunsetup.JPG

Please help.

Thanks.

So this is pretty much saying I can't do this?

i am afraid you are out of luck, you have to use raw device mapping to extend LUNs presented to VMware, looks like VMFS is not supported.
