Alert for storage system
GCDVSAN01 (10.195.202.201) in domain Local Domain generated at 01/29/2009 11:19:05 AM Details iSCSI data ports are not configured on this storage system. They do not have IP addresses or iSCSI security set (optional). Alert Cod
I am seeking some info for the same issue.
I have seen an AX4-5i running on 2.23.50.5.710, throw the same alert.
7209 iSCSI data ports are not configured on this storage system.
We have 4 iSCSI ports being used over here.
SP-A Logical Port: 01
Ip Address: 192.168.252.129 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.128
Gateway IP Address: 192.168.252.254 MAC Addr: 00-60-16-30-25-CF
SP-A Logical Port: 00
Ip Address: 192.168.252.1 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.128
Gateway IP Address: 192.168.252.127 MAC Addr: 00-60-16-30-25-D0
SP-B Logical Port: 01
Ip Address: 192.168.252.130 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.128
Gateway IP Address: 192.168.252.254 MAC Addr: 00-60-16-30-25-FD
SP-B Logical Port: 00
Ip Address: 192.168.252.2 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.128
Gateway IP Address: 192.168.252.127 MAC Addr: 00-60-16-30-25-FE
All the links are present and are up.
The data acess hence exists with no issues.
If these ports are up, running and have an IP address assigned, then is there any reason why the array threw the alert.
Do I need to keep these sp-ports under diffrent ip masking?
Sorry if I hade any mistake and let me know if there is any additional information that you require.
I did follow the thread
https://community.emc.com/message/608081#608081
But seems like, i need a bit more advice on this.
Thank you,
Sheron Godfred.

It may - not sure as on the AX4-5i in my lab does not have all four ports configured but I do not see these errors. It is running patch 711. I will check on Monday to see if there are any new errors.

This date on the alert is from 2009 - this is a stale alert and there should be a Primus that tells how to fix this.

Good Day to you Glen,
A
The other one was taken from the https://community.emc.com/message/608081#608081
The alert for AX 4-5 was on
I have only one log of it, there is not an issue of any sort.
However I was keen on knowing more about this.
I checke many-a docs that told me that it's coz of ip-ports not being configured.
However this baby has ports configured and that are not 192.168.1.x which I read from your doc that the SP uses this range internally and this range aint recomended.
So if these two are not the one causing this log, then there might possible be something.
I m trying to check if we can get some light on this one.
Thanks in advance,
Sheron Godfred.

Glen,
I happened to check an primus emc186161
Modified by you, hope you could provide me with the best help here,
As per that I see 192.168.x.x should not be used.
And now I see even over here, our iscsi port is with the 192.168.x.x ip address.
So if we change the ip-address to something else, will it do the trick??
