AX100: Can't use Disk 3
Hi all.
My problem is that I see the device Disk 3 unassigned to any Disk Pool (apperas as Available), so when I try to expand any Disk Pool, Navisphere says there is no disk available for expansion...and Disk 3 appears now as N/A
My specs:
AX100 CK200044400064-Dual-SP
FLARE-Operating-Environment: 02.19.100.5.018

There are two potential reasons why you are not able to select Disk 3 to expand an existing RAID Group.
1. The RAID Group is of a type that can only be expanded by 2 or more disks (RAID 10 for example)
2. The RAID group is composed of disks that have more space than Disk 3 does.
I would guess that the second reason is more likely. I can see that all of the disks in your system are the same part number (005048378) and therefore the same stated capacity, but you should note that the first four drives in an AX system contain private space that is reserved for the system and not available for user LUNs. This would make the available capacity for a RAID group lower than disks 4 and above.
So if your existing RAID Group is RAID 5 and is composed of disks 4+ (say 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8) and you want to expand it by one disk, disks 0, 1, 2, and 3 are not of sufficient available user capacity to accomplish this. You need to select a disk with available capacity equal to or greater than those in your RAID Group.
There is also a chance that something is physically wrong with disk 3. If the amber light is lit, you should contact your service provider so they can investigate and replace if necessary.
